New proposal to JLab PAC 27 December 3 , 2004 Structure of the Roper resonance from measurements

چکیده
We propose to study the structure of the Roper resonance by a measurement of recoil proton polarization components in the p(~e, e′~ p)π0 reaction in Hall A. The components exhibit strong sensitivities to the pertinent resonant Roper multipoles M1− and S1−, and will be measured in a broad range of Q2 and W . The large kinematic coverage will allow us to attain a better overall understanding of the N→ R transition amplitudes, for which only scarce data exist. These measurements will provide critical insight for extracting information on the N → R transition through comparison with the state-of-the-art models, and will also provide severe constraints on these models in the second resonance region. The experiment requires 2GeV and 3GeV beams and the standard hardware configuration of Hall A. We request 348 hours of beam time.

LOI to JLab PAC 31 RF Cherenkov picosecond timing technique for Jlab 12 GeV physics program
A new particle identification device for Jlab 12 GeV physics program is proposed. It is based on the measurement of time information by means of a new radio frequency picosecond phototube (RFPP) and time measuring concept. The expected time measurement precision for Cherenkov time-of-flight (TOF) detector in a “head-on” geometry based on RFPP is about or less than 5 picoseconds, FWHM. The propo...

Parity-conserving and -violating response functions are computed for the inclusive electroexcitation of the N∗(1440) (Roper) resonance in nuclear matter modeled as a relativistic Fermi gas. Using various empirical parameterizations and theoretical models of the N −N∗(1440) transition form factors, the sensitivity of the response functions to details of the structure of the Roper resonance is in...

متن کاملThe Optimum Level of Non-Oil Exports: A Theatrical Proposal on Iran's Case
Iran is one f the biggest oil producer and exporter of the world. Due to the special administrative and constitutional structure of the country, i.e. economic, social and political reasons, the government budget and revenues depend heavily on oil exports. The aim of this article is to suggest a theoretical proposal on the optimum level of non-oil exports such that it will clear up the idea of e...

Assuming the Standard Model values of "! ! $# , (tested separately by combining the Cs atomic parity violation (APV) experiments and the future Qweak experiment), the expected uncertainty is
